Today has been a good day at the South Plains Food Bank. Dr. Langford at TTU teaches a class in social movement. The class has been devided into groups and each of these groups has the assignment of conducting a community service project. Many of these small groups are doing a Food Drive for the SPFB. As I talk to these young people, I realize they are just doing this activity for a project and they don't really know much about the Food Bank or what we do. I hope that I can educate them, even just a little, about the important work we do here.
That lives are touched by every can of food that we collect and distribute. That some people are given the opportunity to express their caring by donating food and money and others are provided with a sense of hope because they don't have to worry about their next meal.
It is a win win situation. I do know that I am much happier when I am helping someone else!
